Michael Hindman Scholarship
A yearly scholarship is awarded to a student who plans to pursue a career in education. This year one $1,000 scholarship will be awarded in the spring and paid when the student begins his/her student teaching assignment (within 3 to 5 years).

Criteria:
· Application is open to any high school senior residing in IEA-NEA Region 3 or 7 who is entering college with plans to pursue a career in education.
· Applicant must be a U.S. citizen.
· Applicant must have been accepted at college.
· Applicant must have demonstrated success in his/her high school career.
Application must be postmarked by March 1, 2012.

University of Illinois Tuition Waiver
A tuition waiver is available for children of Veterans living Illinois. The waiver may be used for any University of Illinois campus. Up to six waivers per Illinois county are awarded each year, one for each of the following conflicts:

The Children of Veterans Tuition Waiver is a four-year in-state tuition waiver at the University of Illinois. Applications for the 2012-2013 Children of Veterans Tuition Waiver are now available online. Please refer to our web site www.osfa.illinois.edu. On the right hand side of the page, click on the orange “Forms” button. Next, choose “2012-2013 Forms.” The application is listed under the “Tuition Waivers” section. The applicant will need to print out the application and mail it to our office with the required documents. Candidates must submit the completed application with photocopies of both the veteran parent’s service papers (DD Form 214) and the student’s ACT scores to our office.
